Windows 7 Remote Desktop Connection Instructions

1. Click the “Windows” button

2. Click on “All Programs

3. Click on “Accessories”

4. Click on “Remote Desktop Connection”

5. Enter the IP address of the computer that you desire to connect to. Click here for instructions on how to find out the IP address

6. If this is a connection that you will be making often, continue to step 7, others can skip to step 12

7. Click on “Options”

8. Click “Save As”

9. On the left hand side of the pop-up window, select “Desktop”

10. Enter a “Filename” that will help you recognize what this connection is for(example: Work_PC)

11. Click “Save”

12. Click “Connect”

If you run into issues connecting to a machine, make sure that the computer is allowed remote desktop connections and that you are an allowed user.
